Testosterone therapy (TRT) for men in Seattle

Low energy, slower recovery, a drop in libido or changes in mood can have a hormonal cause, but often they don't. At Axiom Performance Medicine, testosterone care for men in Seattle starts with finding out which it is. Your clinician looks at your symptoms, your health history and lab work from a properly timed early-morning fasting blood draw before any treatment is discussed.

Care is telehealth-only, by secure video. There's no waiting room and no clinic visit. You meet your clinician from a private place at home or at work, anywhere in Seattle or elsewhere in Washington, as long as you're physically in Washington during each visit.

Who you'll work with

Every visit is with Timothy Shawn Dannels, ARNP, FNP-BC, a Washington-licensed advanced registered nurse practitioner and board-certified family nurse practitioner. You see the same clinician at each visit. Between visits, you can send questions by secure message in your patient portal, and we aim to reply within 1 to 2 days.

Who this is for

Men in Washington, 18 and older, with symptoms consistent with low testosterone or a documented deficiency, who want a careful, monitored approach. Treatment isn't right for everyone. Your clinician decides whether it's appropriate after an evaluation, and treatment is prescribed only when your history and labs support it.

How care works

Five steps, typically in this order.

  1. Intake and consent. Answer a few eligibility questions, then review our privacy notices and complete your consent forms and health history in our patient portal (Practice Better), including your current medications and what you've tried before.
  2. Free info call (optional). At the end of your intake, you can choose a short call about how Axiom works, or skip it. This call isn't a medical visit. Medical advice and treatment decisions happen with your clinician.
  3. Labs. Before any labs are ordered, you'll get a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs. If labs are appropriate, your clinician orders them. You pay for your first labs at our cost, with no markup, together with a $99 non-refundable deposit toward your first visit. You get them drawn at a participating lab in Washington.
  4. Video visit (already paid by your $99 deposit). Once your results are in, we'll send you a link to book a video visit with Timothy Shawn Dannels, ARNP, FNP-BC to review your results and options. Nothing more to pay at booking. Treatment is prescribed only if your history and labs support it.
  5. Membership, only if you start treatment. Membership renews each month until you cancel. Medications aren't included in membership. You pay for them separately.

After your visit, you get a written plan: what we found, what we recommend, and what we'll be monitoring.

Labs close to home

Participating labs are located across the Seattle area, so you can usually get your draw done close to home or work. If you start treatment, follow-up labs on our standard schedule are included in membership. You pay our cost, with no markup, for your first labs, labs after a later dose change and any add-on labs, and we tell you the price before we order any lab you'll pay for.

Already have recent results? We accept outside lab results from a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory. If you're starting treatment with us, the sample must have been collected within the last 3 months. Your clinician decides whether the results cover what's needed for your care.

What it costs

Founding TRT is $109 a month (regular $129), and Founding Axiom Complete is $219 a month (regular $249) for TRT plus weight management, ED treatment and hair restoration. Founding spots are limited to 25 total across TRT and Axiom Complete, and the founding rate stays with you as long as your membership is continuous. Medications aren't included in membership. Axiom is cash-pay: we don't bill insurance, and we are unable to accept Medicare patients. Full details are on our Membership page.

Common questions

Do you have a Seattle office I can visit?

No. Axiom is telehealth-only, and every visit is by secure video. Our Seattle address is a business address (no in-person visits).

Do I have to be in Washington for my visit?

Yes. You must be physically in Washington during each visit, and you need a Washington address for prescriptions and lab work. If you're traveling, we'll reschedule.

Will I be prescribed testosterone at my first visit?

Only if your history and labs support it. The first visit is an evaluation, and your clinician may recommend other steps first.

Where do I get my labs drawn?

At a participating lab in Washington. Your first panel is drawn early in the morning, fasting, before your first visit.

Can I use labs I already have?

Possibly. Send results from a CLIA-certified lab through your secure patient portal. To start treatment, the sample must have been collected within the last 3 months. If any results are outside the lab's normal range, your clinician may ask you to repeat them. At-home finger-prick kits aren't accepted.

Do you take insurance?

No. Axiom does not bill insurance or submit claims. You may be able to use HSA/FSA funds for some services; check with your plan administrator.
